Laerdal training manikins

All our Laerdal training manikins have realistic anatomical parts and airway construction. The airway naturally remains obstructed without the use of proper head tilt, chin lift or jaw thrust.

Act Fast Anti Choking Trainer

The Act Fast Anti Choking Trainer is worn by students in CPR class to learn the Abdominal Thrust Manoeuvre ( Heimlich ). When performed correctly, a foam plug shoots into the air, making instruction realistic and leaving students confident. In addition it also includes a foam Back Pad for practicing back blows.

Tourniquets

A range of tourniquets are used that represent the current selection available. We use a CAT and a SOF-T. If you want to know what these acronyms stand for, and which is which, scroll down to the bottom of the page for the answer. It is also important to know how to improvise a tourniquet. When a major incident occurs, many lives can be saved by using everyday things like cutlery to improvise a tourniquet.

AED training

Three different full size training AEDs are available for use during first aid training. The prompts are identical to the real thing, and the variety is invaluable to give the students confidence in operating any new device that is available to them.

Haemostatic dressings

A foam block with fake wounds cut into the foam is used to demonstrate and practice packing a wound with a haemostatic dressing. A z-fold crepe bandage is used to simulate a haemostatic dressing, with sample packs of haemostatic dressings being made available so the learner can readily identify one.
